This site provides 2 modes of operation; switching between them is performed through the "Tree-based navigation" checkbox located at the top of the Welcome Home page.
- Dynamic mode
This (default) mode may resemble Microsoft Windows Explorer with its left-side dynamic menu:

clicking

will expand/collapse the related section;
- clicking the header of an expanded section will collapse the adjacent ones;

clicking a section trailed by
will display its contents in the main window. An additional double-click will collapse all but the path to that section (this may not work with every browser).
The [Expand] button will present the whole menu while [Collapse] will reduce it to its main titles.
Clicking
will open the selected section (indicated by 
) in a new browser's window (may be useful when wanting to print).

- Static mode
When using the static mode, the main titles are selected from a menubar and the related sections from a column located on the left side. Selecting a section then displays its contents in the main window.
Generally every picture is represented by:
- a thumbnail, which is part of a list to choose from,
- a compressed picture, whose quality is acceptable with a download time almost acceptable,
- the original, which is of maximum quality but requires ridiculous download time.

- Make sure that "Tree-based navigation" is checked (Welcome Home page).
- Press [Collapse] the left hand side menu.
- Then click "Pictures", "Lavendel", "1 - 2 Years" and "1½+ years".
- Press [Load pictures...] on the main window's top right corner
- ... and take five.
- Back from the coffee break, close the window "Loading pictures in your browser's cache" ;
- now you may enjoy Lavendel's pictures...
- If you'd like to download some pictures:
- Click the button [Choose set of pictures...] at the bottom.
- Select the pictures you wish to download.
- Click the [Submit] button at the bottom.
- You may get the "Low resolution" (compressed) pictures if you just want to look at them on your own PC. However, if you plan to have the photos printed on paper, you will need the "High resolution" ones (excellent quality but longer download time).
